About Rick McFarland

Rick is a dedicated lifelong learner, passionate about study. He completed his bachelor's degree in Marketing from Oklahoma State University in 1991. Later, he pursued his interest in biblical studies, graduating from Rhema Bible Training Center and the School of the Local Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Rick served Grace Church in various roles, notably as Singles Pastor for 16 years. In 2011, he earned his Master's in Biblical Studies from Charis Bible College in Colorado.

With his wife Joann, Rick co-founded River Rock Church in 2014, emphasizing a balanced teaching of grace and faith. He has been an integral part of Charis Bible College, serving in multiple roles, such as Dean of Faculty. In 2022, feeling a strong calling, Rick retired from his position to focus entirely on ministry as River Rock Church continues to thrive. Rick is also a dedicated educator, teaching various classes at Charis, including subjects like Principles of Grace and Faith, Effective Singles Ministry, and How to Study the Bible.

Rick and Joann, who he met at Grace Church in Tulsa, have been happily married since 2001 and share a life filled with the joy of raising pets together.

This website is dedicated to the proclamation of the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and to the uplifting of His finished work. RMM is founded on two key scriptures:

  • Colossians 2:6-7 “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”

  • 2 Corinthians 3:18 “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Grace is what God has done for us, and faith is our response to Him when we understand our rich inheritance. This balance of grace and faith is essential for the maturity and edification of every believer. It is our sincere hope that the teachings on this website help you to be firmly established in the faith while being transformed into the image of our Lord Jesus for His glory.
